How to create a receipt: step by step

   Enter your business information
   Fill in the store name, address, and phone number. These appear centered at the top of the receipt in POS style.

   Set the receipt date, time, and number
   The date and time default to now and are fully editable. Enter a receipt number and optionally a cashier name.

   Add line items
   Enter item names, quantities, and unit prices. The total per line updates automatically. Click Add Item to add more rows or × to remove one.

   Configure tax, discount, and payment method
   Enter a flat discount amount and a tax percentage. Select the payment method from the pill buttons: Cash, Card, UPI, Bank Transfer, or Other.

   Download or print
   Click Download PDF to export an 80mm-wide receipt PDF: the standard width for thermal receipt printers. Click Print to send the receipt directly to your printer.

Is the receipt generator free to use?

Yes. The tool is completely free, requires no account, and runs entirely in your browser. No data is transmitted to any server.

What PDF size does the receipt download use?

The PDF is generated at 80mm width: the standard width for thermal receipt printers. The height is calculated automatically to fit all the content, so longer receipts produce taller PDFs.

What is the difference between the flat discount and the invoice tool's percentage discount?

The receipt generator uses a flat monetary discount (e.g., $5.00 off) rather than a percentage, which matches how POS systems typically handle promotions and vouchers. The invoice generator uses a percentage discount instead.

Can I print directly to a thermal receipt printer?

Yes. Click Print and select your thermal printer in your browser's print dialog. For best results, set the paper size to a custom 80mm width. Alternatively, download the PDF and print it from a PDF viewer for more control over printer settings.

What currencies are supported?

The tool supports USD, EUR, GBP, AED, INR, SAR, CAD, and AUD. The selected currency symbol appears on all amounts in the receipt preview and the exported PDF.
