By accessing or using the AlteredIdea platform at alteredidea.com (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and anyone who accesses or uses the Service.

2. Description of the Service

AlteredIdea provides a collection of browser-based productivity tools including PDF utilities, image tools, developer utilities, generators, converters, calculators, and related services. Most tools process data entirely within your browser: no data is transmitted to our servers during operation. Some features, including the Workspace, require an account and involve server-side processing.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.

3. Use of the Service

3.1 Permitted use

You may use the Service for any lawful personal or commercial purpose. You may use tools to process your own files and data or files and data you have the legal right to process.

3.2 Prohibited use

You may not use the Service to:

• ×Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the platform
• ×Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content from the platform
• ×Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the platform
• ×Use the Service in a way that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure
• ×Violate any applicable law or regulation
• ×Infringe the intellectual property rights of AlteredIdea or any third party

4. Accounts

Some features of the Service require you to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or are otherwise used in ways that are harmful to the platform or other users.

5. Intellectual property

The AlteredIdea platform, including its design, code, text, graphics, and tool implementations, is the intellectual property of AlteredIdea and is protected by copyright and other applicable laws. Unauthorized reproduction of the platform or its components, in whole or in part, is strictly prohibited.

Content you process using the tools remains your property. By using the tools, you do not grant AlteredIdea any rights to that content. For browser-based tools, your content never reaches our servers and we have no access to it.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any tool output.

You use the tools at your own risk. Always verify the output of automated tools before relying on them for decisions with significant consequences: legal, financial, medical, or otherwise.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AlteredIdea shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profit, or loss of business opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites and do not endorse them. Your use of third-party sites is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
